Dear Cleveland Arts Education Consortium members and friends,
Covid-19 and its variants continue to impact our lives. For more than a year, we all had to make difficult decisions to stay afloat, protect staff, artists, and programs. The work of CAEC members to survive and thrive has been brave and spectacular. Many of the new ways online for art presentations, exhibitions, and immersive arts learning will be intertwined with existing and new in-person activities to carry us forward.
You’ll find some of those programs in our Ready To Go Online & In-Person Arts Programs Fall 2021.
CAEC members helped create this booklet of programs and resources. The newest edition can be downloaded and shared with people of every age — students, teachers, principals, families and older adults — to point the way to amazing and varied introductory and immersive arts learning adventures.
Consortium programs and Coffees with Judy continue online this year to help keep us all easily connected. We’re hoping to celebrate together safely during the year with a special in-person gathering. Stay tuned.
Thus far, we’ve heard about the Fall for CMSD schools, teachers and students, especially in the arts, and look forward to assisting as needed and helpful. That session will be followed by programs around other school districts, unique collaborations that grew out of the pandemic, info around Say Yes and other supporting organizations, addressing trauma, inclusion and justice in all of our work, and a brand-new session around assessment processes. As we do every year, we will close the season with CMSD CEO Eric Gordon’s Update.
Join us when you can. You’ll be glad you did.
Take care and be well – if you haven’t already, do get your Covid vaccination.
Wear masks where needed and enjoy being outdoors as much as possible.
